Title : Ten Gurus of the Sikhs: Their Life StoryEvery History book of our land whether from the historians of the west or those of Indian origin, the remarkable roles played by the ten Sikh Gurus namely: (i) Sri Guru Nanank, (ii) Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji, (iii) Sri Guru Amardas Ji, (iv) Sri Guru Ramadas Ji, (v) Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, (vi) Sri Guru Har Gobind Ji, (vii) Sri Guru Har Rai Ji, (viii) Sri Guru Har Krishan Ji, (ix) Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and (x) Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, during the period from 15th to 18th centuries; have not received fair and adequate mention.In order to make amends and with the intention of making the world aware of the great contributions of the great Gurus, the Bhavan has undertaken the task of publishing the English translation of a monumental Marathi book on this subject under the title "Ten Gurus of the Sikhs: Their Life Story" authored by the 85 year old Smt. Kusum P. Ghatage and translated into English by Pramila Naniwadekar and Gp. Capt. (Retd.) Moreshwar Naniwadekar. The Life story of the Ten Sikh Gurus will inspire people all over the world to remember God and inspire them to lead a dignified life through honest living.
About The Author: Kusum P. Ghatage :
Smt. Kusum Ghatage, born in a traditional Hindu Family in Maharashtra (Sangli), went to East-Africa - Tanganyika, now Tanzania, in 1944, with her late husband Dr. Ghatage Pandurang Srinivas of Kolhapur.
Since 1944 she spent 40 years in Arusha (Tanzania), a beautiful place at the foot of Mt. Meru.
In this small place different communities like Gujarathis, Punjabis, Sikhs, Bohras Ithanashrees lived like one large family with affection towards each other. There was warmth.
Now she is in Hyderabad, she often goes to Arusha. She finds the same warmth here in Hyderabad. She worked as a teacher in Indian Public (Secondary) Agakhan School too for some time. She has learnt many languages including the Punjabi Gurumukhi Script.
